Eye examination
30 minutes in the chair, 10 minutes after.
A sight test, a prescription if you need one, and a look at the health of the eye. Bring the glasses you wear now, and your prescription if you have it on paper.
Contact lens fitting
45 minutes in the chair, 15 minutes after.
Measurement, trial lenses, and as long as it takes to get them in and out yourself. A first fitting uses the whole slot; a repeat check rarely does.
Why the gap after the visit is stated, not hidden
The minutes after an examination are cleaning, notes and the occasional question at the door. If they were folded into the appointment, the next patient would be told a time that is already spoken for. They are held separately instead, which is why the times offered look sparser than a raw calendar would.
What we do when a cabinet is closed
A public holiday or a one-off closure is entered as a closed day. You are then told the door is locked, rather than that the day happens to be fully booked — two different things that a calendar cannot tell apart on its own.
